Leeds United Transfers: United set to sign Premier League star as deal for Gray takes twist

With the January transfer window right around the corner, a lot of players have already been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Leeds will be hoping that they would gain key players in January rather than lose some as they did in the summer. The Whites sold Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter in the summer after losing the Championship playoff final. On the bright side, the club made over €100million on selling these key players.

Ahead of the transfer window, it has been hinted that Daniel Farke is keen to add midfield and attacking depth. Losing Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev just three months into the campaign has been a huge blow for the club.

Let’s dive in and take a look at the transfer news making the rounds at Elland Road.

The past few weeks have seen links with former Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray in the news. But the latest developments are not positive for the club. According to reports, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is determined to keep the youngster at the club as he highly valued his versatility. Gray has played at fullback and in midfield for Tottenham this season. Leeds might have to move on to another target.

Leeds set to rival champions league clubs for Manchester City star

Daniel Farke’s search for a midfielder has seen the club linked to James McAtee. The Manchester City midfielder could leave the Premier League champions on loan in January. McAtee would be the ideal fit for Daniel Farke, who has been pursuing a creative number 10 since the summer. But Leeds would have to fend off serious competition. Fulham, West Ham, Southampton and Champions League clubs like Lille and Feyenoord are all keeping an eye on the 22-year old.

Championship rival star could join Leeds United

According to reports, Leeds United are monitoring the current situation of Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill. The 28-year old is having a fantastic season, and is the club’s top scorer in the league with five goals. Brownhill’s contract at Turf Moor expires in 2025, and Leeds are one of the clubs interested. But the club would need Premier League football to convince the Burnley captain. Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers also hold a key interest in the midfielder.
