Leeds United will travel to The Hawthorns this weekend to face their second league game of the season against West Bromwich Albion. The Whites started the season on the back of two unexpected results with a 3-3 league draw to Portsmouth and a 0-3 loss to Middlesbrough.
Both games were at home which was a disappointing fact for Leeds’ fans. Now, we’ll need to see whether the club’s fortunes change when The Whites travel away from home on Saturday.
Unfortunately for The West Yorkshire outfit, The Baggies have had a few players return from injuries. Both Jed Wallace and Grady Diangana will be included in the clash against Leeds United.
The duo were facing calf issues which were resolved just in time for The Albion’s third game of the season. Diangana was the man who scored the winner when the two sides faced off in 2023.
“I will be happy when both players are ready to perform. We know that Grady didn’t make pre-season because he arrived with the injury. Wallace did part of the pre-season, not a full one.”
“He had the problem during pre pre-season so it is a similar feeling but it is always good to recover players.”
-Carlos Corberán
Although, there is one player the club won’t be able to call out, USA international Daryl Dike. The 24-year-old striker might not be able to play again this year due to Achilles problems.

Daniel Farke’s tactical dilemma in the absence of key players
Daniel Farke faces some tactical dilemmas with the upcoming fixture. Giorginio Rutter was expected to take up greater roles in the squad with a good pre-season form.
However, his departure to Brighton and Hove Albion will see a key attacking gap in The Whites’ frontline. The 49ers were already facing difficulties in attack which was evident in both the matches against Portsmouth and Middlesbrough.
Against Pompey, The West Yorkshire outfit lacked a goalscoring threat which led them to miss many chances. Now with Rutter gone too, Farke will need to find another man to take up his role in the WBA clash.
Another player missing from the previous matches will be Maximilian Wöber. The Austrian defender is fighting against some calf issues which will see him miss this match.
The German Gaffer will need to find temporary plugs to fill the holes in the squad until reinforcements arrive from the transfer market.
