Leeds United are facing an anxious wait to get an update on the injury status of Wilfried Gnonto after he picked up a knock on international duty on Thursday.
Gnonto is with the Italy Under-21s and was wearing the captain’s armband for the Azzurri in the 7-0 win over the San Marino Under-21s.
However, the winger was at the wrong end of a crunching tackle in the first half, which appeared to have affected him despite Gnonto choosing to continue until the break.
The Italy international didn’t come out in the second half and seems to have picked up an injury, which is bad news for Leeds United.
According to Leeds Live, Leeds are still waiting to hear about the severity of the problem the winger has picked up.

Gnonto has started the season positively for the Yorkshire giants, scoring on the opening day against Portsmouth and also playing a prominent role in the wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City.
His importance to the team was further underlined when he recently signed a new four-year deal to commit his future at Elland Road.
The Italian was almost certain to start against Burnley after the international break until he picked up the knock on Thursday.
Leeds are now trying to determine whether the winger will regain fitness before Burnley come vising Elland Road a week from Saturday.
It remains to be seen whether Gnonto will be available when the Italy Under-21s take on Norway Under-21s on Tuesday evening.
Daniel Farke will be desperate to have the key player fit and ready and keep the team’s momentum going after the international break next week.
Leeds are sitting fourth in the Championship standings after four games and are being tipped as one of the top contenders to get promoted this season.
