Nottingham Forest ”may be using” Leeds United in transfer deal

After missing out on Igor Paixao, the club has sought out to find another wide player.
Nottingham Forest star Jota Silva is a name that has been mentioned in recent weeks. According to reports, Leeds could sign the Portuguese star. However, Graeme Bailey has warned that Forest could be using Leeds to get a better deal out of Sporting Lisbon.
“Sporting Lisbon have agreed terms to an extent, but they wouldn’t agree on whether the loan includes an option or an obligation.” he told Leeds United News.
“Our information is that Forest actually wanted an obligation of around £10 million. However, I think Leeds will do very well to persuade him not to go to Sporting.
“In fact, I suspect they might have been offered him, or Leeds are being used to get a deal done.”
Leeds are skeptical when it comes to recent targets
Per reports from The Athletic, Leeds do not view the current targets as priority. Igor Paixao was a player the club rated highly and wanted to sign.
Alternatives like Jota Silva are decent, but sources say that the club will only move for players of better quality than the current options in the first team.

The Nottingham Forest man is a decent player, and has shown he can do a job as a rotation option in the Premier League. In just 840 minutes last season, he had three goals and one assist. These numbers do not seem exceptional, but they do show that he could produce more if he had more opportunities.
Ultimately, Leeds will have to make a decision on if the Portuguese star is worth a move.
