Leeds United weighing up £30M move for Brazilian striker – exit talks have already begun

With the season over, Leeds United can now look ahead to the future. The club lifted the league title this weekend, and everything is set for the summer window. Daniel Farke will lead recruitment heading into the Premier League.

Leeds’ squad is expected to undergo some major changes heading into next season. The club will be hoping to bring in some new faces as they aim to survive in the Premier League. Club chairman Paraag Marathe came out and declared that Leeds will spend in the transfer market this summer:

“Together we are going to build the best squad we can with every penny we are allowed to spend to compete in the Premier League. I’m under no illusions that it’s going to be easy. I know all the stats, that last season’s three promoted clubs went right back down.”

Leeds’ recruitment team will have more questions than answers heading into the transfer window. Some of the main concerns are around the goalkeeper, and a new striker. Illan Meslier could leave in the coming months, and the club have been linked with multiple targets. When it comes to the attack, there are some questions over Joel Piroe’s ability to play in the Premier League. He has been prolific in the Championship over the past few seasons, but the top flight will be a different challenge.

According to The Boy Hotspur, Spurs striker Richarlison has been linked with a move to Elland Road. The former Everton man is reportedly in talks over a return to his former club. He is expected to have many suitors this summer – Wolves, Newcastle, Al Hilal and Palmeiras have all been linked with the 27-year old.

Spurs are said to be looking to recoup as much as £30million from the forward in the upcoming window.

Richarlison could be the solution

The Brazilian is a curious case; his Spurs career has not been impressive. Richarlison has been riddled with injuries and has barely been fit. But his last two clubs were relegation candidates, and he managed to score close to 50 goals for them. He has four seasons with 10 or more goals in the Premier League.

For £30million, an experienced striker who is still young and could hit his prime soon would be a decent option. Not many players around have 64 Premier League career goals on the market.

Not bad, good goal scorer but often injured. Would prefer Evanilson but he would cost a lot more and is at arguably a better club than Spurs. Exciting times!
