Leeds United will be laughing as David Ornstein delivers blockbuster update on relegation rivals

Leeds United remain outside of the drop zone with just nine games left in the Premier League campaign.

Although the gap between the Whites and the bottom three has shrunk from six to three points recently, Leeds are still in a good position to stay in the top flight, given their remaining fixtures.

Daniel Farke’s men travel down to London to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, with two key players for Leeds being labelled as “doubts” by Farke ahead of the game.

However, the recent reports coming from David Ornstein regarding one of United’s relegation rivals will likely be a major boost for Leeds’ survival prospects.

Tottenham may sack Igor Tudor as soon as this weekend

Back when Spurs narrowly beat Leeds 2-1 at Elland Road back in October, no one would have believed that it would be Farke’s side who sit the higher of the two in the table come March.

Nevertheless, that is the situation that Spurs find themselves in, and it’s fair to say that since his appointment following the sacking of Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor’s reign at Tottenham has been nothing short of a disaster so far.

In the aftermath of the thrashing they received in midweek at the hands of Atletico Madrid, Ornstein has recently reported for The Athletic that Spurs are actively working on potential candidates to replace Tudor after less than a month in charge.

Tottenham are set to travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool on Sunday, and this crisis that is following the current holders of the Europa League will only benefit Leeds, who know all about chopping and changing managers in the hope of avoiding relegation from the last time the Whites were in the top flight.

Data suggests Tottenham have been terrible under Igor Tudor

Whilst some Leeds fans may be anxious after the Whites suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League to Manchester City and Sunderland, they are in far better form than Tottenham.

  • Leeds have picked up nine points from their last eight games in the Premier League
  • In the same amount of time, Spurs have only picked up two points
  • Furthermore, since Tudor’s appointment, Tottenham have lost all four of their games in all competitions (Sofascore)

Hopefully for Leeds’ sake, this chaos continues to surround Spurs for the rest of the season, which is highly likely given the fact that nobody expected them to be in this precarious position during the backend of the season.

Back in 2023, when Leeds sacked Javi Gracia to appoint Sam Allardyce in a last-ditch attempt to keep them up, this didn’t work, and now we may be beginning to see the same type of story unfold at Tottenham.
