Leeds United should be careful with wage structure as new signing nears

Leeds United are set to spend big this summer as they look to beef up their squad for next season. The Whites need to be prepared for top flight football.

Especially after the events of the last two seasons. The Premier League has seen all three newly promoted sides go straight back down to the Championship in back to back seasons. Club chairman Paraag Marathe has vowed to the fans that he will help the team maintain their top flight status beyond this season.

With adequate resources at the helm, fans at Elland Road are expecting big signings in the coming months.

Daniel Farke has been keen on adding Spurs star Manor Solomon since the season ended. The 25-year old impressed on loan at Elland Road, scoring 10 goals and 12 assists. A deal seems to have stalled in recent weeks, but the summer window is not over yet. Everton are one to watch in the race for the Spurs star.

Now, it has been making the rounds that the Whites may be interested in a possible double swoop. Ben Jacobs has told GMS that Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma is a target for Leeds United this summer.

“He wants to stay in the Premier League. I’m told Leeds are another one to watch.

“They’re looking to add another midfielder. It will all come down to finances and wages for them too.”

Bissouma has a year left on his deal in London, and is reportedly on a £100,000-a-week contract. Spurs could negotiate a cut price deal for the 28-year old this summer to prevent losing him for free. If Leeds do sign the midfielder, he immediately becomes the highest earner at the club, as he would be expected to earn higher than his current wages.

Bissouma would be a great addition

The Spurs star fits as a complimentary piece in the Leeds United team. Statistically, he traits involve being an active player defensively, and having a lot of touches on the ball in midfield.

He also has some versatility, and can play further forward. This would allow Daniel Farke some flexibility in his lineups.
