Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has very much made his decisions this summer public. From removing Patrick Bamfor from next season’s plans to sidelining Mateo Joseph.
The young Spaniard is now on loan at Mallorca till the end of the season. Bamford is in the UK trying to sort his future out; he was recently playing friendlies with the U21 side. Farke also made it public that Jack Harrison was in his plans for next season, which was met with boos last weekend.
The Leeds boss also made it clear that Illan Meslier had fallen down the pecking order too:
”Today we decided to play just two goalkeepers and for that there was not necessary for him to travel with us.”
”Perri is not there at 100% yet so we wanted to give him 45 minutes and Karl is ahead of [Meslier] in the pecking order at the moment.”
”He had a fantastic finish last season and also really good pre-season. So there’s no need for me to change the order.”

Per Graeme Bailey, Leeds are already working on Meslier’s departure this summer. It has been an ongoing theme of this summer, with the French goalkeeper having been linked to a number of clubs.
“As it stands am told there is interest, mainly coming from France but a few others.” Bailey said.
“Lille are one who have been approached following Lucas Chevalier’s move. Am told that PSG have looked should they lose their current no 2 Arnau Tenas. There is also Como.
“The problem for Leeds is the longer this goes in the window they might have to loan him. But Leeds are working hard to get him out.”
PSG and Lille mentioned as suitors
As mentioned by Bailey, France looks like the most likely destination if Meslier should leave. Two clubs are in the market for keepers. Lille, after having lost first choice Chevalier, and PSG who could lose their backup keeper.
No official bid has been made, but depending on how the rest of the transfer window goes for these two French clubs, Meslier could finally find a way out of Elland Road.
