Ahead of the game, the only worry Daniel Farke reported was the fitness of Dan James. The winger went off against Middlesbrough with a hamstring problem and missed the recent Preston game. Farke said a late fitness test would determine if the Welshman is fit enough to be involved on Friday.
Oxford United have some major concerns of their own as Gary Rowett ruled out two players just hours before the game. Oxford United captain Elliott Moore is expected to be on the bench, while fullback Hidde ter Avest might not be ready till Monday.
Predicted lineup on Friday
With Leeds in fine form, and Dan James not ready to start right away, Daniel Farke might name an unchanged side. Joel Piroe had an awful day in front of goal against Preston, but at this point of the campaign, dropping the striker is not ideal. Karl Darlow is also expected to continue in goal, after bringing some calmness behind the backline.
Leeds United predicted starting XI vs Oxford United: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Ampadu, Firpo; Tanaka, Gruev; Gnonto, Aaronson, Solomon; Piroe.
