Leeds United have confirmed that captain Liam Cooper will be out for up to eight weeks with an injury.
The 31-year old suffered a ruptured plantar fascia against Cardiff City on Sunday. He sustained the injury after scoring Leeds’ first goal of the season.
The captain led the comeback as Leeds salvaged a point in their first game back in the Championship since 2020.
Leeds forward Crysencio Summerville also picked up a groin strain during the game and faces three weeks on the sidelines.
The Whites’ next game is against Shrewsbury in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
