Leeds United are approaching the winter window from a position to strength. They sit third in the Championship table and are in the mix for automatic promotion to the Premier League. Daniel Farke will likely have money to spend but whether he chooses to use that in January is a different story altogether.
The Whites’ fans want the club to invest in new players in the winter window to further bolster their chance of promotion. Leeds would want to avoid getting into the playoffs after last season’s heartbreak and would prefer to finish in the top two.
The Leeds United board are prepared to make money available for Farke but the German is said to be wary about bringing in new players in the middle of the season as he fears affecting the balance and harmony of his squad.
However, there is now talk that Leeds could be welcoming back a player in January who played a big role in getting them promoted to the Premier League a few years back.
Jack Harrison is having a tough time at Everton this season and there are claims that he could return to Leeds in the winter window.
Everton have ruled out cutting short his loan in January but there are no guarantees that they will take up the option to make the move permanent.
Harrison wants to stay at Everton
The winger has not started the last four league games at Everton after his form took a real downturn and is now struggling to save his future at Everton.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed that despite all the rumours, the winger wants to stay at Everton and is not too keen to return to Elland Road.
Everton have an option to make the move permanent and Leeds are hopeful that they can rake in some cash after the Toffees sign him on a permanent deal.

However, Everton have not made a decision and the imminent takeover of the club could further complicate matters as the new owners might want to bring in a bigger name in place for Harrison.
“I think Leeds would like him to go permanently. I think Leeds are hoping that because Everton have two domestic loans which obviously means they can’t do another. Are Everton looking? If they desperately need to do one, are Leeds going to take advantage by turning it into a permanent deal?”, Bailey told LeedsUnited.News
“I don’t think Harrison is desperate to come back to Leeds at any point. I think it’s something that is under consideration by Everton, but they are going to change managers, so I think they might try and not do it, just for the sake of building a squad that they might have to wait for the summer for a new manager.
“It’s a complicated one, but I think Harrison would quite like to do it. But he’s not playing every week at the moment. I don’t think that particularly bodes well for Leeds in this regard. I think they’d like to sign it off permanently. Obviously they’re saving a lot on his wages.
“He hasn’t started their last four games. Lindstrom’s playing quite well now. It’s an interesting one. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see him back in white next season. But the likelihood is that by January they might be changing manager then, so it’s a bit of a tough call.
“We’ll see what happens when the takeover gets rubber-stamped and no disrespect to Harrison, but they might be looking at bigger names going forward.”
