Major blow as £33M Leeds United target set for stay

Leeds United will be pushing for reinforcements as the transfer deadline draws closer. After a humbling defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates, the Whites could look to the market for more quality.

Mikel Arteta’s side totally outmatched Leeds on Saturday, and the scoreline could have been even worse. Daniel Farke accepted that his side were just no match for the gunners on the day:

”Arsenal deserved to win the game with a proper goal difference. Not sure if it was 5-0. Five shots on target and scored from them all.”

Leeds face Newcastle United next in the Premier League, and will hope Farke can come up with a better game plan than what happened at the Emirates.

Earlier in the summer transfer window, Leeds were revealed to be one of the clubs monitoring Emi Buendia. Daniel Farke was keen on a reunion with his former player, but the club never made an approach.

Now, there is a huge development that could scupper a potential deal. Buendia played his way into Unai Emery’s plans for this season, and on Saturday, he made his first league appearances. But he only lasted 60 minutes.

As it stands, a move is not likely especially with Villa struggling to recruit new players.

A deal can still be reached this week

Having said that, if things go Aston Villa’s way this week and they get some new players, Buendia could suddenly become available. Especially after Leeds are working out a loan for Largie Ramazani, the club could do with an attacking player who can play out wide.

This week is expected to be a hectic one at Elland Road; Daniel Farke’s side also have an EFL cup tie midweek.

We need more players in before the window closes, more importantly we need the right players in. Arsenal have a settled side and know this league back to front. I hope we get more in, work as a team and maybe return the compliment to Arsenal by spanking them at Elland road.
