Major complication arises in Leeds transfer pursuit of midfielder

Recent results have sent the Leeds United fanbase into a bit of a panic in this early part of the season. The defeat to Burnley now means that the Whites have not won in their last three games.

The overall form does not make for pleasant reading – one win in eight games is not a good look. Many expected a result at Turf Moor over the weekend, but the team failed to convert their chances once again. This trend of the club’s attackers failing to find the back of the net has cost them recent games against Bournemouth and Spurs.

The failure of the club to bring in some quality attacking names during the summer seems to be having a big effect on the team.

Leeds United move for Gustavo Hamer in January very unlikely

Leeds are just a few months away from the January window, which could offer them an escape route if their form continues to plummet between now and the end of the season. Reports emerged weeks ago that the Whites could be interested in signing an old transfer target in Gustavo Hamer; Daniel Farke has been a fan of the midfielder and tried to sign him last year.

Hamer has not quite hit the heights of last season that saw him win EFL Championship Player of the Season, but he is still a quality player. Unfortunately a move for the 28-year old in January looks unlikely according to some factors. Gustavo Hamer has been ruled out for a few weeks with a knee problem, with Sheffield United yet to assess the full extent of the injury. The midfielder was seen in a knee brace last weekend, which is not a good sign for any club that plans to sign him in January.

Blades midfielder should not be a risk the club should take

Hamer has been in poor form this year, and has not performed close to the levels of last season. Add to that an injury which could see him out for a while, it would be a recipe for disaster if Leeds were to try and sign him in January. When the window comes around, Daniel Farke’s side would need someone who can come in and contribute right away, and Gustavo Hamer is not in any shape to do that.
