Leeds United boss Daniel Farke’s big call during the run in was one of the main reasons why the club won the Championship. A huge change to the lineup changed the club’s fortunes.
After a series of errors that cost Leeds to drop crucial points, Daniel Farke benched Illan Meslier for Karl Darlow. The Frenchman had been the undisputed number one for most of the campaign, but the decision needed to be made. Darlow’s run in goal during the final seven games saw the Whites lift the league title.
Farke’s decision sparked rumours of Meslier leaving Elland Road this summer, with interest from England and France. But the club took matters into their own hands when the window opened last week; Leeds offered the 25-year old to multiple clubs in their efforts to move him on.

The goalkeeping position remains a huge question mark this summer. With Meslier set to leave, multiple targets have been linked with a move to Elland Road. This includes England pair Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale. While Johnstone is keen on a move this summer, Ramsdale has interest elsewhere.
An opportunity may now have presented itself to the Whites; Chelsea have dropped Djordje Petrovic from their Club World Cup squad. And according to the Telegraph, the Serbian keeper asked to be excluded from the team. The report claims that Petrovic is keen to sort a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Petrovic is the perfect keeper for Leeds
The Serbian could be the answer to Daniel Farke’s prayers. He is a good age and comes with a lot of experience. Just last season, he was nominated for the Best goalkeeper award in Ligue 1. 10 clean sheets and 38 goals conceded for a Strasbourg side that qualified for UEFA competition is very impressive.
Leeds need to go all out to secure a deal for him this summer.
