Leeds United continue their poor run of form away from home, as they fell to Fulham on Saturday. That makes it three games this season where the Whites have failed to find a win on the road.
Leeds were in the game for most of the 90 minutes in a stale game between both sides. There were not many chances created as the teams were limited to half chances and long distance efforts. Ultimately, it took an unlucky deflection of Gabriel Gudmundsson’s face from a corner for the London side to take all three points.
Marco Silva’s side managed their first win of the season over the Whites.

Dan James goes off injured in Fulham clash

Coming into the game, Leeds had almost a full complement of players. Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu had recovered in time to make the matchday squad, and Joe Rodon and Gudmundsson shook of knocks from the international break. Joel Piroe missed out on the game after he picked up a bruise during the week.
Daniel Farke’s injury woes do not look to be ending anytime soon as Dan James went off with an injury after just 12 minutes. The Welshman was brought on as a substitute for Brenden Aaronson, but was taken off soon after. Leeds will assess the extent of the injury after the game.
Did Daniel Farke risk the Leeds star?
Farke himself admitted that the winger was not at a 100% before Saturday’s game, but still brought him on in the second half. It is very possible that the Welshman has aggravated the knock he has had for the past few weeks. This is what the Leeds boss said about James’ injury problems:
“He was the only one of my players who was involved in a competitive game on Tuesday (playing for Wales at home to Canada) – he was involved for 90 minutes.
“We have to wait and see how he will recover because he is not at 100 per cent yet.
“We will work hard with him in the upcoming days and weeks. It helps that we have just one game per week, not that I like that we are out of the Carabao Cup.
“For some of my players it’s definitely beneficial that we can work with them on the training pitch because we definitely need Daniel James back at his best.”
