Leeds United will have a long list of decisions to make in the upcoming January transfer window.
The main concern will be adding players to the squad as the club gears up for another promotion push this season. Leeds lost the championship playoff final to Southampton back in May. Daniel Farke will be hoping his team qualify automatically this time around.
Leeds are firmly in the race to do so; 29 points from the first 15 games and just two points behind the league leaders. Daniel Farke’s men could have gone into the international break top of the table, but suffered a shock defeat to Millwall.
The club will be glad to welcome their full compliment of players back from the international break with no major injuries. Leeds suffered a small scare when Brenden Aaronson missed the USA’s game against Jamaica.

Leeds United star attracting interest
Leeds will also decide on which players to offload in January, with quite a few on the way out already. Joe Gelhardt has reportedly asked to leave, after his limited game time this season. The forward has played just two games in the Championship so far.
One of the best stories at Elland Road this season has been the emergence of Mateo Joseph. The forward has been in great form this season, scoring twice and providing three assists in his limited time on the pitch. Joseph scored what proved to be the winning goal for Spain U21s against Denmark. The 21-year old continues to increase his stock in the national team; he scored a hattrick in U21 Euro qualifying last month. Joseph has been the subject of interest from Spanish clubs over the past year.
Leeds midfielder Josuha Guilavogui has praised the youngster, comparing to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen:
“I spoke also with Mateo Joseph and, for me, he looks a little bit like Aubameyang, but the way he is, I was speaking with him about Victor Osimhen. I played with him when I was in Wolfsburg.
“I told him ‘Mateo, I know now it’s hard, you start[ed] as our striker and now you are coming in the bench, but you had already three chances and if you scored the three chances, maybe you will start the other game or maybe even this winter someone can come and say we want to buy you for £20m. I hope you will stay!’”
Mateo Joseph needs to stay
If the young striker continues to perform how he has so far, Leeds will find it very difficult to turn down offers for him. An outstanding player for club and country could be tempted with a move away for more playing time. Daniel Farke has a decision to make in the near future.
