Heading into next season, Leeds United have some serious issues to deal with in their goalkeeping ranks. Last summer, the club thought they had solved their problems after signing Lucas Perri.
The Brazilian had a decent start to his Leeds career, before his season was cut short due to injury.
Karl Darlow stepped into goal when Perri was injured, and did an outstanding job in the first team. Perri did return and resumed his role as the club’s number one as the season went on.
But after his mistakes cost the Whites key games against Manchester United and Newcastle United, Farke criticized the former Lyon star.
The whole debate over who should be Leeds number one ended when Karl Darlow was in goal for the rest of the season.
Lucas Perri was only used in the FA Cup run after January.
Karl Darlow decision emerges amid Manchester United links
This month, Leeds United could lose three first team goalkeepers. Alex Cairns, Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow are all out of contract in a few weeks.
This has opened the door for Manchester United, who are keen on signing Darlow according to The Athletic. The veteran would most likely be a backup goalkeeper if he does leave for Old Trafford.
A huge update has emerged on Tuesday, as James Marshment of TEAMtalk has revealed that Leeds have offered the Welsh keeper a new contract. The Whites are keen on retaining the veteran heading into next season.
So the next couple of weeks could see a tussle between both Manchester United and Leeds over Karl Darlow.

Whites need Leeds star ahead of next season
When it comes to which of the teams needs a goalkeeper, the obvious answer is Leeds United. Manchester United have a clear direction, with Senne Lammens as their first choice.
Leeds on the other hand, cannot decide on who their goalkeeper will be next season.
Darlow had an excellent run to end the year and has shown he is a Premier League level starter. The Whites also do not fully trust Lucas Perri after his first season in England.
There are even reports that the club could listen to offer for the Brazilian.
Ultimately, the decision will lie with the 49ers, if they confident that Darlow will be their man next season. Nick Pope has also been linked in recent weeks, which could see an exciting summer window ahead.
