Leeds United are still in their training camp in Germany as they continue their pre-season. The club have been tested in two friendlies so far.

Leeds were held to a draw against Manchester United last weekend. The club showed that they could compete with Premier League opposition. They later followed it up with a huge win behind closed doors against SC Verl.

This week also revealed the futures of some Leeds United players. Daniel Farke revealed that Patrick Bamford was not in the team’s plans for next season. And in a stunning turn of events, Jack Harrison has been offered a second chance. Farke said that the winger could be in the team next season depending on his performances this summer.

One player who seems to be taking the news well is Illan Meslier. Leeds are set to add a new keeper, with a potential departure awaiting the Frenchman. But his teammate Alex Cairns has said Meslier has been a ‘top professional’:

“The absolute top. At the end of the day, he’s a professional footballer, he understands what happens in professional football.”

As of Thursday, everything has been set as Leeds await the arrival of Lucas Perri. A fee has been agreed, and the player will make his way to complete a medical.

The YEP have confirmed that the official fee is £15million including add-ons. Perri is currently on his way to the team camp in Germany to undergo the medical, and finalize the details of his transfer.

Financial problem resolved on Lyon’s end

Lyon will receive the full transfer fee for the deal involving Lucas Perri. This comes after reports that the French club would only be taking part of the fee. Olympique et Lyon have reported that no part of the transfer fee will go to Perri’s old club Botafogo.

There were conflicting reports that the Brazilian club were to receive ‘50% of any future transfer’.

What happens with Illan Meslier this summer?

As reported earlier this week, Leeds are fine with the current situation involving Illan Meslier. The club is not in a rush to sell the keeper, but will be open if any offers are received. The Frenchman is in team camp for pre-season, and featured in both friendlies against Manchester United and SC Verl.

Meslier’s contract is up next summer, and he could very well stay for this season and leave on a free transfer.
