Leeds United continue to push for new signings ahead of next season. The club have played their first friendly of their pre-season tour this past weekend.
They played a 0-0 draw with Manchester United. But it was the headlines after the game that drew a lot of attention. Many thought decisions on the squad would be made before pre-season began, but it looks like Daniel Farke has his own plans.
In his press conference following the game, he revealed that Patrick Bamford is not in the club’s plans this season. He also revealed that Jack Harrison could make the squad for next season.
Expect many more changes from the Leeds United boss in the coming weeks.

Talks to be held over Igor Paixao

Leeds have been linked to a winger and a striker in the past few days. Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz and Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao are the two main targets.
But this week, Marseille have launched a bid for the Brazilian. But apparently nothing has been agreed yet, and there are going to be crunch talks in the next couple of hours to see if the move can be finalized. Dutch journalist Mikos Gouka is sharing details of the meeting that will take place:
“Regarding Igor Paixao and the French interest: there is (still) no deal, but the transfer has not been ruled out either.
“According to sources at De Kuip, Olympique Marseille plans to sit down today with a large delegation to discuss the arrival of the currently injured Brazilian.”
Leeds United still in race for Brazilian
Many Leeds fans thought a move for the Brazilian was out of reach after reports on Sunday night.
But with the recent news that a deal between Feyenoord and Marseille has not been completed, the door has been opened. Graham Smyth has reported that Leeds are ‘keeping the door open’ with regards to the 25-year old.
“Obviously they might get a phone call at any time saying he’s off to Marseille but it hasn’t come yet. And he’s definitely a player worth keeping the door open for a bit longer.” he wrote on X.
Time for the 49ers to show ambition
Leeds have already lost on some targets this summer – Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki. Both were not really ”priority” signings, as the club had Stach and Longstaff deals in the background, but the news did not please fans.
Now that the club have Paixao on the table, they need to push for it and sign the Brazilian. The winger is the quality of player you break the bank for – Leeds can definitely persuade him to agree to a deal.
