Leeds United are in the market for a striker, and signing a starting number 9 in the next couple of weeks is the club’s biggest priority. Daniel Farke has made it clear that without the attacking reinforcements, the squad can’t be termed Premier League-ready.
The Whites are in talks with Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannous, and are prepared to trigger his release clause to take him to Elland Road in the ongoing summer transfer window. Leeds have also expressed an interest in signing Liverpool winger Ben Doak this summer.
Signing a number 10 and another winger is on Leeds’ agenda, but the biggest priority is to get a new number 9 who is good enough to start games in the Premier League and lead the line next season.
Leeds’ pursuit of a forward has not gone according to plan thus far, but the club remain hopeful that they will bring in a striker of required quality before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
Can you name the team Leeds United signed these players from in the 2000s?

Fulham take a tough stance on Leeds United target Rodrigo Muniz

Rodrigo Muniz has been the top target at Leeds all summer, and the Whites are hopeful of striking a deal with Fulham before the end of the window.
The striker’s camp have encouraged Leeds during talks over a potential switch, but it appears Fulham are hell-bent on keeping him.
According to Sky Italia, Atalanta are putting in a real effort to sign the Fulham striker as well this summer and are pushing to try and find a breakthrough.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi is in England for talks with Fulham and is trying to negotiate a deal to take the Brazilian to Bergamo in the ongoing transfer window.
However, Fulham are insistent that the forward is not for sale despite the Atalanta chief personally holding talks with the London club’s officials.
The Cottagers are indeed keen to offer the forward a new deal to stay at Craven Cottage next season.
Leeds remain interested and are of the belief that Fulham will soften their stance closer to the end of the window if they sign a striker this summer.
It could still take in excess of £40m to snare him away from the Cottagers in the ongoing window.
Leeds cannot continue to wait for Muniz
In little over a week, Leeds will begin their Premier League campaign against Everton at Elland Road, and their striker options are Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha.
Piroe is unproven in the Premier League, and Nmecha was snapped up on a free transfer following two injury-riddled seasons at Wolfsburg.
Leeds’ need for a starting number 9 cannot be emphasised more, but the club are yet to bring in someone of the required quality.
Muniz is the top target, but Leeds need to look at alternatives as Fulham seem determined to keep the Brazilian at Craven Cottage.
The Whites could run out of targets if they keep waiting for the Fulham striker until the end of the transfer window.
Cant wait for Muniz, 49ers wont want to part with £40m probably sign Alan Shearer next? 🙈
Sanyal. Don’t you think that Leeds are not aware of their predicament? Do you think the recruitment team are just sitting on their hands? Have you any idea how difficult it is to get transfers, especially for strikers, done at this time. Oh one more question. Do you have any idea of football at all?
