“Super Leeds > Super League” – How social media reacted to Tottenham’s defeat to Leeds United

Yesterday, Leeds United again shocked one of the big teams in the league with a resounding 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspurs as the Whites continue to impress whilst Spurs plummet. Or at least that was my view. But how did social media see the game?

Some Leeds fans immediately revelled in victory over four time European Champion Gareth Bale.

Meanwhile many turned to Marcelo Bielsa. The Leeds manager has taken players many saw as average and turned them into superb footballers.

Speaking of Bamford’s development under Bielsa, one fan claimed he was on the path to win the Champions League one day.

Hilariously, someone suggested that Manchester United should be targeting the Leeds number 9 instead of throwing money at Edinson Cavani.

Something tells me he won’t be at Old Trafford next season.

Unsurprisingly many loved the fact that the famous Harry Kane and strike partner Son Heung-min were outplayed by United. Fans also claimed that Leeds wouldn’t follow in the footsteps of relegated Sheffield United next season.

Many weren’t even thinking about next season. Instead they enjoyed the fact another of the supposed Super League teams had been beaten by Leeds.

In truth it again pointed to just how good Leeds have been this season. No side from the traditional ‘Big Six’ has beaten them at home this season.
