Most will remember Leeds United and Sunderland’s draw because of the blunder at the end of the game.

Leeds United looked headed towards victory until an error from Illian Meslier handed Sunderland a point and saw Leeds drop two. To Leeds United’s credit, they have responded well only conceding one goal in their next two games and collecting six points.

Those results have kept Leeds level on points with Burnley in second place in the Championship and just three points behind Sunderland, but many fans will wonder what might have been had Meslier not made that error. Had Leeds held on, they would be top right now and in the early pole position to return to the Premier League, after all that is what everyone in the Championship desires.

But one young Championship player could make the leap to the Premier League sooner than many expected with Manchester United and Chelsea scouts in attendance to see a young star shine as two of the top teams in the Championship clashed.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea scouts according to reports were in attendance for the Leeds and Sunderland game to get a look at an exciting Championship star valued between £25 million and £30 million.

This was 17-year-old Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg who is highly rated by many across the top tier in the English football, however Leeds fans will be hoping that the Manchester United and Chelsea scouts stook to their remit rather than eyeing up some of their in form stars, lord knows that Manchester United could do with some help at the moment and Leeds will be the last club that wants to give it to them.

Since that game, Leeds have gotten on with their own business winning their next two. First they ended Sheffield United’s unbeaten run before downing Watford 2-1. Next up on Saturday (26th October) lunchtime, Leeds make the trip to take on Bristol City, it is their first away game since the draw at Sunderland and this time they will want all three points.
