Manor Solomon was again pivotal in Leeds United beating Millwall 2-0 at Elland Road on Wednesday night. The Israeli’s run and pass led to the opening goal against the Lions and he has been a revelation since breaking into the first team in December. He is currently on loan at Elland Road from Tottenham, but Leeds have already made the decision to try and sign him on a permanent deal. They cannot move for him until promotion is secured, but the Whites are certain about wanting him back in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United signed the winger on loan from Tottenham last summer amidst worries about his fitness after he missed most of last season due to a serious knee injury.
The winger took his time to settle at Elland Road and was not a regular in the team until Daniel Farke lost his patience with Wilfried Gnonto and brought in Solomon into the starting eleven in December last year.
He has not looked back since then and his performances have been pivotal to improving Leeds away from home and putting them in a brilliant position to get promoted with nine games left in the season.
Solomon seems happy at Elland Road and Leeds have long been interested in keeping him on a permanent deal if they get promoted at the end of the campaign.
Leeds have already informed Tottenham they want to sign him on a long-term contract and talks will happen between the two clubs once the Whites secure promotion.
Everton are also interested and the Leeds United loanee has a preference
Solomon’s performances at Leeds this season have led to interest from other Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Whites want to sign him but they do not have a clear run at him as there are several other sides who are considering signing the winger in the next window.
Everton are claimed to be interested in the player and he is also attracting the attention of clubs abroad ahead of the summer but he has a preference.
According to TEAMTalk, the winger is happy in England and his preference is to stay here and play for a Premier League club next season.
For Leeds to sign him, they must get promoted as the winger will not agree to return to Elland Road if he has to play one more year in the Championship.
While Solomon dropped down to the Championship last summer, he sees himself as a Premier League player and wants to play in the top flight next season.
Tottenham are prepared to do a deal and are ready to start listening to offers for the winger in the next transfer window given the kind of interest he has been attracting.
Tottenham will sell at a certain figure
Leeds have to beat competition for his signature in the summer and interest from clubs in the Premier League will be a complication.
However, it won’t be a cheap deal to do as well because while Tottenham want to sell him, the interest from multiple clubs will drive up the price.
Can you name these past and present Leeds United players
There were suggestions Spurs could agree to sell him for as little as £10m but those claims seem to be far away from the reality of what Tottenham want.
The north London club are only likely to sell Solomon next summer for a deal worth £20m due to interest in him from several teams.
If Leeds get promoted to the Premier League, he would be affordable to them and given how much they want him back, the Whites are likely to pay that figure.
