Marsch ‘in grave danger’ – Phil Hay reports

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay reports that Jesse Marsch’s position at the club is in danger after recent results.

Leeds have only won 5 games in all competitions, currently sitting in 14th position in the Premier League. The Whites are winless in their last six games, and questions are being asked about the manager.

“I think my observation would be ‘close’ [to the sack] if from here there’s no improvement and sign of results coming,” Phil Hay said on his podcast.

“I don’t think he’s that many results away from being quite a way out of trouble. It certainly helps in a coaching sense when there isn’t that pressure of relegation.

“I think in that position that he is in history tells you that in the Premier League manager in that zone are in grave danger of being sacked and there are others down there who will be looking to get results on the board.”

Leeds face Aston Villa over the weekend, and Cardiff City in midweek. One would hope the results in both games would be enough to buy Jesse Marsch some precious time.
