Leeds United lost three of their best players last summer, dimming promotion hopes ahead of this season. After what seemed to be an underwhelming transfer window by the fans, the club surprised everyone.

Missing the star trio of Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, no one really gave Leeds a chance to win promotion. However, the Whites proved everyone wrong. Daniel Farke played a key role on and off the pitch.

The Leeds boss was instrumental in bringing Ao Tanaka and Manor Solomon to the club this summer. The duo played a huge part in winning promotion. Solomon, had the most important moment of the season with the 91st minute goal that won Leeds the Championship.

After winning the league title, Manor Solomon hinted that he would consider a move back to West Yorkshire. The player was open to the deal, and Spurs changed their stance on selling the 25-year old after initially considering keeping him.

A move for Solomon could be in jeopardy this summer, as Marseille have opened talks with the forward. Sky Sports reporter Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that the French side have been scouting Manor Solomon over the past few months, and Roberto De Zerbi has already given the green light.

TEAMtalk football correspondent Fraser Fletcher has added that Solomon is also keen on a move to Leeds, and will give the club the opportunity to make their proposal before a decision is made on the Marseille deal. Solomon enjoyed his time at West Yorkshire and is very open to a permanent switch.

Leeds should not waste this opportunity

The hesitation from Leeds United over the fee is understandable, but Solomon provides them with a quality Premier League player for a decent value. The fact that Marseille, who will play in the Champions League next season, have shown interest speaks volumes.

For a team desperate for quality heading into next season, the club are not acting like it. Leeds need to fix up and sort out a deal for the forward, who is very open to moving and has given priority over a very enticing offer elsewhere.
