Leeds United are looking to really revamp the squad as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have done a great job identifying talents. Every one of the four new signings this summer have experience from top clubs in European leagues. Leeds did not go down the same route as Ipswich Town, who focused on signing Championship players last season.

Sources at the club say Leeds targeted quality as well as physicality and athleticism. The club is confident that each of their signings can survive the intensity of English football.

At the start of the summer transfer window, Leeds were one of the clubs linked with a move for Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Southampton man is now a free agent after he failed to sign a new deal with the Saints. Reports suggested he was headed to Turkey, but an official statement from Besiktas has revealed that the medical has now been cancelled:

“It is publicly known that the arrival of Kyle Walker-Peters, with whom we previously announced an agreement in principle and invited him to Istanbul for a medical examination, has been postponed.

“Today, Kyle Walker-Peters notified us, requesting an extension. Consequently, our club has withdrawn its transfer.”

Transfer fee for Leeds United target revealed

Leeds got in contact with Igor Paixao’s camp over a move on Wednesday night.

As of Thursday, talks have really progressed, and the Whites are convinced that the Brazilian is the ideal signing for them. They believe he can come straight into the team and have an impact. Nothing is official, but the possibility of a deal grows closer.

According to an exclusive from transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, Feyenoord will not take less than £38.90million for the Brazilian this summer. Leeds have concrete interest among some top sides from Europe.

Leeds can get second chance at Walker-Peters

The club should take a look at Walker-Peters. He is still at a good age, comes with loads of experience and can play both flanks. Most players are just okay when they can play multiple positions, but the former Southampton man excels at it. He can fill in as a backup for both Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle.

Fullback depth is looking a bit thin even after Sam Byram was re-signed. With how Daniel Farke plays, it would be ideal to have many fit fullbacks for his system.
