Leeds United have done very good business despite the amount of money spent. The club have added six signings to the first team in this transfer window.
One of the most important things Leeds do is to sell their project to the player first. Lukas Nmecha and Sebastiaan Bornauw have spoken about how the club got in contact with them before the move.
The Whites have also spent wisely; over £60million has been spent so far on quality players. Almost every signing this summer has been a regular player in teams in Europe’s top leagues. Leeds have a different approach to the market than other newly promoted clubs. Ipswich Town spent most of their budget on players from the Premier League and Championship, but the team still failed to survive last season.

Leeds United set to complete deal for Lucas Perri
L’Equipe are reporting that Leeds’ deal for Lyon keeper Lucas Perri has been finalized. The medical has been completed and the signing will be announced in the next hours.
The Brazilian is now set to become the most expensive goalkeeper the club have ever signed. Perri will cost Leeds £15.6million which blows the £5.1million spent on Illan Meslier out of the water.
Leeds managed to narrow down their options to Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Robin Zentner and Lucas Perri. But the club settled on a move for the Lyon star.

France-based journalist Luke Entwistle spoke about the 27-year old’s time in Ligue 1:
I find Lucas Perri very fun, although I sometimes find his footwork a little bit scary,” he said.
“He doesn’t always assure you, although most of the time he does get away with it, manages to get the ball away, and progress the ball, but he can be a little bit hairy sometimes in that regard.
“He’s a bit of a Hollywood goalkeeper, likes the Hollywood save for the cameras, he is a good shot stopper, though he’s tall as well, and commands his box.
“It’s quite funny. On the pitch, he is very dominant, I find, but an extremely quiet character off the pitch, very meek and a bit of a gentle giant type.”
Another ambitious signing by the club
Perri will become the seventh summer signing, and will be the record transfer fee for a goalkeeper at the club.
The 49ers have delivered on their promise; there have been enough funds for signings. These signings have also been from top teams around Europe, showing that the club know the quality of players needed for next season. This summer is a big show of ambition, and hopefully it pays off for Leeds United.
