“Not likely” – Move for Brazil World Cup star ruled out

According to Dean Jones, Leeds United will not be making a move for Brazil forward Pedro in January.

Leeds coach Jesse Marsch was keen on bringing in the forward to bolster the attack in January. With Patrick Bamford still struggling with injuries, Rodrigo is the only fit first team striker ahead of the hectic schedule after the World Cup break.

Leeds have been long term admirers of Pedro, with the club having followed him since August. The Flamengo forward’s deal runs out in 2024, and Brazil media suggest that he is keen to move to Europe. However, a move for the 25-year old is unlikely according to Dean Jones: “Most of their players are well settled or have recently moved clubs. Leeds United are being linked with Flamengo forward Pedro and while there have been scouting reports done on the player sources indicate a move in the near future is not likely.”

Leeds will now have to rely on their young attacking talent to step up during the absence of Patrick Bamford over the next month.
