Leeds United will have to decide what to do with Patrick Bamford this summer. The veteran striker has become a sort of problem in the team over the last year.
Bamford is rarely ever fit, and has not really been able to contribute since last year. And as it stands it is kind of difficult to move him because of his contract. Leeds went through most of this season with Joel Piroe up top, the striker’s backups this year included a relatively inexperienced Mateo Joseph.
Now, according to recent reports, it looks like Daniel Farke may be in the market for a new striker. Ipswich Town star George Hirst has been linked with a move to Elland Road, but his club is set to offer him a new contract to put off interest from other clubs.

Patrick Bamford is one of the highest paid players in the Championship, with a reported £70,000-a-week. And with his current deal expiring in 2026, no club would risk trying to sign him this summer.
But according to Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie, there is a market for the veteran striker:
“I think there’s loads of teams in the Championship that will be looking at Patrick Bamford, particularly now that Leeds have gone up.” He said speaking to FLW.
“I would’ve said that teams that are maybe coming out of the Premier League, top-half definitely. Obviously, he’s struggled with injury and not been able to get himself back to full fitness, but just of late, he’s been used and utilised as a sub where he’s looked quite sharp and bright.
“You know that he’s capable of scoring goals, particularly in the Championship and the EFL. He’s more than capable of fitting the bill for, I think, any of the top clubs in the Championship.
“I think it would be down to his preference of who he goes to, and who can afford him really.”
Sadly, Patrick Bamford might not have any interest
Leeds may be stuck with the 31-year old for another year. It is going to be difficult to sell or even loan him with his current wages. And his injury record over the last few seasons is a risk no other club will take. Bamford may yet play a part when the club play in the Premier League next year.
