Neil Warnock has said Leeds United need ‘one thing’ to survive in the Premier League

Leeds United failed to make a signing on deadline day even after Daniel Farke said the club were working on some deals. A late push for Harry Wilson was on the table, but fell through in the last minute.

The Whites have been missing that spark in attack since the season began, and many fans expected the transfer window to resolve this. Leeds only managed to bring in three attacking signings despite bringing in 10 players this summer.

On the pitch, the results have been quite promising. In three Premier League games so far, the Whites have lost just one. Leeds have gotten four points from a possible nine and have kept two clean sheets. The result against Arsenal was a bad one, but a win over Everton and a draw against Newcastle has inspired some confidence.

QUIZ: Can you name the missing player from these 10 famous Leeds United photos?

Being a newly promoted team is very difficult; as soon as you are promoted, you are no longer one of the best teams in the league. And all the other teams have better players and resources. So in order to survive you have to spend wisely to bring in quality.

Former Premier League boss Neil Warnock has spoken on how important Elland Road will be to Leeds this season:

“The crowds at Leeds are such an atmosphere, they’re vital and they get behind the lads.”

Warnock also had some words on the signings that Leeds have made in this summer window.

“Leeds have made one or two good signings, one or two of the younger lads have got more experience, and I think they’ve got enough.

“They’re not gonna knock the door down but I think they’ve got enough to stay up.”

Home form was very important last season

Leeds won more than half of their points in the Championship last season at home. Elland Road is not an easy place to come to, and it has continued into this Premier League season.

If the Whites have any chance of survival, it will depend on their home form.
