New club hold talks to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United – He’s best off away from both Leeds and Everton

Leeds United are marching towards securing automatic promotion to the Premier League this season. They sit at the summit of the Championship table and are widely expected to get promoted to the top flight with eleven games left in the campaign. The Whites are expected to overhaul their squad in the summer if they get promoted given the quality they would need to survive in the Premier League. However, Leeds are also aware that they need to bring in money from player sales and Harrison’s departure in the summer is seen as one way of raising funds from the market in the next window.

Harrison has been on loan at Everton since Leeds United got relegated from the Premier League in 2023 and the Toffees have an option to buy the winger on a permanent deal.

However, the winger has been unimpressive this season and is yet to score a goal or register an assist despite making 23 appearances for the Merseyside club.

Everton boss David Moyes has made a decision on the winger’s future and the club are not expected to sign the winger on a permanent deal in the next summer transfer window.

He will be allowed to return to Leeds at the end of his current loan contract and that is expected to cause a dilemma at Elland Road in the summer.

Harrison has shown little inclination to play for Leeds since getting relegated and the fans are unlikely to welcome him back with any fondness in the summer.

It seems work is underway behind the scenes to find a new club for the winger in the next window and some talks have already taken place between interested parties.

A return to the MLS is on the cards for the Leeds United winger

Harrison has been poor this season in the Premier League and it seems he has no future at Leeds even if he returns to the club in the summer.

With Everton not interested in signing him on a permanent deal and Leeds reluctant to take him back, the winger needs to find a new home in the next transfer window.

His representatives have gone to work to find a new club and according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Harrison would be open to a return to the United States.

Harrison started his career in the MLS where he featured for the New York City FC before he returned to England with Middlesbrough in 2018.

The winger is now open to the idea of returning to the MLS after struggling at Everton this season. A return to Leeds has never been an appealing prospect for him.

No official approaches have been made but initial talks have taken place with club representatives in the MLS for a potential transfer in the summer.

Leeds are also keen to move him on as reintegrating him would be unpopular with the fans and Harrison has shown this season that he is not good enough for the Premier League.

Harrison would do well to move on from Leeds

The winger has been found out in the Everton team this season, and no goals and assists in 23 appearances is a tellingly poor statistic for a winger.

Harrison’s decision to escape Leeds the moment they got relegated from the Premier League made him unpopular with the fans at Elland Road.

He has no way back to Leeds despite what his contract says and Everton want to move on from him in the summer where they are expected to spend money to bring in a new winger or two.

A return to MLS could be his opportunity to rekindle his career in a country where he previously played well and has an understanding of the league as well.

He spent a considerable time in the United States before he returned to England. He would not need much time to adapt to the country or the league.

Harrison would be best off to move away from Leeds and Everton and leave England to move to the US to get his career back on track.
