Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund plotting Crysencio Summerville summer swoop

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is attracting the interest of other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window – with Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund amongst those reportedly interested.

A summer transfer for the Dutchman is believed to be contingent on whether Leeds remain a Premier League club by the end of the season, Football Insider claim.

Alongside fellow winger – and best friend – Wilfried Gnonto, Summerville has enjoyed something of a breakout season in West Yorkshire, managing four league goals and two assists.

Yet, as is the case when any side gets ejected from England’s top-flight, the future of several of the Whites’ top talents would be put at risk – Summerville among them.

The fact that the Netherlands Under-21s international is currently under contract at Leeds until the summer of 2026 will give the club hierarchy confidence that they can, at the very least, command a decent fee for one of their brightest young talents.

The allure of European football cannot be ignored however, something which both Newcastle and Dortmund will be able to provide Summerville with next season.

Leeds will be hoping to avoid a mass exodus of their most skilled players were they to be relegated to the Championship this season, but the departure of several of them is perhaps inevitable.

The Whites currently sit just one point above the relegation zone and host relegation rivals Leicester City in a massive clash at Elland Road this evening.
