Leeds United are in the market for more players this summer as Daniel Farke has urged the club to bring in more signings before the end of the window on September 1st. The Whites are likely to push for more attacking additions as well as a few back-ups with Premier League experience.
The Yorkshire giants have signed seven new players since earning promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season. However, Lukas Nmecha has been their only new attacking arrival, and even then, he was snapped up on a free transfer when his contract with Wolfsburg expired in the summer.
Leeds are in the market for a starting number 9, an attacking midfielder and one more right winger, and are in talks to sign Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannous, who has a £24.5m release clause in his contract, which is applicable until 15th August.
The Whites have offered him a contract to move to Leeds, but it has been suggested that a move for another Premier League midfielder should be a no-brainer for the club.

Journalist feels Leeds United moving for Kalvin Phillips should be a no-brainer

Kalvin Phillips has been linked with a return to Elland Road, with some former Leeds stars urging the club to make the deal happen this summer.
Leeds have already signed two midfielders, and appear stacked in that area of the squad, but journalist Pete O’Rourke feels a deal should be a no-brainer.
He is certain Manchester City are prepared to take a massive financial loss to offload Phillips, and the midfielder remains determined to get back into the England squad.
O’Rourke indicated Leeds should change their data-driven transfer policy to get the midfielder back to Elland Road, as he loves the club and would be keen on a return.
“They will be taking a huge hit, Man City, and I think they’ll be prepared to take that as well”, O’Rourke told Football Insider.
“He will still have an eye on that England squad for next summer’s World Cup as well, so to have any chance of breaking into Thomas Tuchel’s plans, he needs to be back playing.
“Leeds will be a no-brainer, because he’ll be welcomed back with open arms by the fans, and it’s a club he loves as well.
“If Leeds do change their transfer policy and look at bringing Kalvin Phillips back, let’s see, but the main thing for Phillips right now is to get fit and find a club where he can start playing again.”
Leeds have other priorities, and the fans do not seem enthused about a Phillips return
Farke seems clear about the club’s priorities for the rest of the window. Leeds need a striker, an attacking midfielder and another winger, and the club are working towards bringing in more players.
While the Whites are open to signing a few back-ups, such as a replacement for Isaac Schmidt, Phillips cannot be classified as a back-up midfielder, given the wages he will command even after taking a pay cut.
Leeds cannot afford to spend money on wages and a transfer fee on a defensive midfielder who will likely demand to start games due to his ambition to get back into the England squad.
The ship for Phillips’ return to Leeds has sailed, and the club have moved on.
A no brainer?? Anybody that thinks Phillips should come back are those without brains
