Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United has been under scrutiny since the club earned promotion to the Premier League last season. There were question marks over whether he is the man to lead them in the top flight, given his poor record at Norwich City previously.
A steady start to life back in the Premier League has allayed some of the fears around Farke’s ability in the top flight. However, the jury is still out on him, and he remains on a short leash at Elland Road.
With Leeds looking stable, there are no immediate question marks around the German coach’s future, but things could change if there is a downturn in form, as the 49ers are desperate to establish the club in the Premier League.
However, the American consortium would favour Farke continuing the stability at Elland Road, as they are already dealing with the fallout of making a bad managerial appointment at Rangers.
Adam Pope shares what he knows about Daniel Farke’s Leeds future

Farke has already made a few pundits eat humble pie this season. However, the question marks will not go away as long as Leeds are safe in the Premier League.
BBC journalist and Leeds insider Adam Pope is confident that the German will keep Leeds in the Premier League and feels the manager is also aware of the financial parameters at Elland Road.
He stressed that Leeds should have had more points this season, and for the moment, the 49ers are happy with the job Farke has done at Elland Road.
“The start has been steady and, in terms of points, probably about what I envisaged. I feel Farke will keep Leeds in the Premier League for another season”, Pope said in a Q&A on BBC Sport.
“The transfer window was solid, if not spectacular. Farke is very intelligent and understands the financial parameters he has to work within. He also knows how to manage upwards as well as his players.”
“In all, the performances have deserved a few more points and, therefore, there are no questions over his immediate future.”
Farke’s stability at Leeds is a relief for the 49ers
Leeds fans should be concerned about the 49ers not showing clear planning when it comes to replacing Russell Martin at Rangers. However, the situation at Elland Road is different, and that is a relief for the owners.
Farke has brought a sense of stability and consistency behind the scenes, and Leeds seem as sorted as they looked when Marcelo Bielsa was in charge.
The 49ers batted away questions around Farke in the summer and backed him as they admire the stability under him.
The decision is looking smarter given their struggles to replace Martin at Rangers, and the stability at Leeds is a huge relief for them.
Of course, if results do not go according to plan, the 49ers may be forced to act, but there is a certainty that they do not have the appetite to make any change at the moment.
Farke’s job security also allows him to ensure that he has real authority behind the scenes, and he can make big decisions without the fear of an axe hanging over his head.
