Norwich star lined up in shock move by Leeds United – player has made his future known

Leeds United have been looking to add more firepower to the attack this summer. After scoring 95 goals in the Championship, some would ask why reinforcements are needed.

But the Premier League and the Championship are worlds apart. The quality between the two leagues has become more apparent over the past few years. This campaign makes it two successive seasons that have seen all new clubs be relegated during the same year.

Leicester City and Ipswich Town, who pipped Leeds to automatic promotion, failed to even hit 30 points in the Premier League.

QUIZ: Can you name the team Leeds United sold these players to?

Adding some quality in attack is a sure way to help teams level the playing field when it comes to quality. Over the past few hours, Leeds have re-ignited their interest in signing Everton star Beto.

But Sky Sports Switzerland have reported that the Whites have an alternative to the Everton man. Norwich star Josh Sargent is another name on Leeds’ shortlist of center forwards. Talks have already been held between both clubs over a move, And Sargent’s camp are convinced that the striker wants to play in the Premier League soon.

A fee of around £17million has been rumoured for the 25-year old.

Sargent is not a better option than Piroe

The two strikers are very similar in profile and style of play. Two tall center forwards who have a great sense of where to find the back of the net. If the reports are to be believed, Leeds would be spending more than twice of what they paid for Piroe a few years ago.

Spending that kind of money this summer would be a bit of a waste. Sargent is not an upgrade on Joel Piroe and should not be demanding close to that fee. Leeds are better off going with the main target on their list – Everton star Beto.

Sargent always likely to be one of Farke’s top choices as Sargent is one of the best utility forwards in the Championship. (Yes Championship as we cannot gamble our whole transfer budget on one superstar who could be injured or “fail”). a a high quality intelligent, experienced player, who can play up front, as a no 10 or even winger, and given his consistency, and also this year’s goal tally, & goals as super sub, in spite of a long injury, and playing in a mid table team. I hope this goes through. Need a large experienced super fit, committed quality squad to survive. Nicholas
