Leeds United are not quite done with business this summer. Things have become a bit complicated after news emerged from training camp last week.
Daniel Farke has had his say on some players’ futures at the club. Patrick Bamford was the biggest name involved; the striker will not feature in the team’s plans for next season. Another forward Mateo Joseph has also asked for a move away. Joseph has chosen to stay in England to sort his future, rather than join the team in Germany.
Potentially losing two strikers could change plans for the club this summer. Leeds had already tried to sign Brazilian winger Igor Paixao. But he chose a move to France. The recruitment team now have a huge task on their hands in the last few weeks of the transfer window.

Earlier this summer, Leeds were strongly linked to Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes. No offer was made as the rumoured fee was too high.
NEW: West Ham have submitted an offer for Mateus Fernandes of Southampton.
However, he and his agent are said to prefer a move abroad.

It has now been revealed that West Ham have submitted a formal offer for the Portuguese star. The West Ham Way believe that Fernandes and his agent could prefer a move away from England. The Hammers have considered offering James Ward-Prowse, but for now it is a straightforward transfer deal.
Southampton will demand huge fee
When Leeds were linked with Fernandes, the news from St. Mary’s revealed that the club valued him highly. Crystal Palace were also keen on signing the 21-year old. A source at the club was quoted saying this about the player’s market valuation.
“A potential £30m price tag was laughed off on Friday, with another quick-witted source quipping: ‘His hair is worth £30m’.”
Leeds not likely to go after Portuguese star
After the recent additions of Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, it looks less likely that Leeds will pursue another central midfielder. However, Fernandes’ versatility and ability to play as a number 10 could interest the club.
Sadly his preference for a move abroad and reported transfer value could mean he is out of reach for Leeds United.
