Leeds United have some attacking woes ahead of their Premier League opener against Everton on Monday night. The Whites are short of options in the final third, and Daniel Farke has been insisting on adding more players to their attack before the end of the window.
The Whites have tried to address their problems in attack, but so far, some of their moves have not taken off. Igor Paixao has rejected them, and their top striker target Rodrigo Muniz seems to have made up his mind about moving to Italy, where Atalanta are pushing to secure a deal for him.
Leeds are on the verge of signing a striker after reaching an agreement in principle with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Everton at the end of last season.
The forward has turned down a move to Sunderland to accept the offer from Leeds, and will soon undergo a medical ahead of signing a contract with the Whites. However, not everyone is a fan of the move.
Can you name these 10 former Leeds United strikers?
Simon Jordan slams Leeds United for signing the former Everton striker

Calvert-Lewin’s fitness has been an issue for the last few seasons, and it was a major reason why Everton decided against offering him a new contract.
The former Crystal Palace owner pointed out that Leeds are essentially replacing Patrick Bamford, a striker known for his injury issues and streaky form, with another striker in Calvert-Lewin, who has the same problems.
He is not a fan of Leeds, essentially finding a similar player in their squad who is not reliable enough to play a run of games.
“One crock, replacing another crock and another streaky striker”, Jordan said on talkSPORT.
“Patrick Bamford, who was injured more often than not, was streaky in terms of his performances.
“Now they have got another one doing the same thing.”
Patrick Bamford scored 17 goals in his first season in the Premier League for Leeds. That is exactly the number of goals Calvert-Lewin has netted in his last four seasons.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin cannot be the only striker to join Leeds before the end of the window
Calvert-Lewin has Premier League experience, and when fit, he has proved himself to be a handful for defenders in the English top flight.
However, his injury record suggests Leeds cannot consider him as the forward to lead the line for the team in the entire 2025/26 campaign.
It’d be a massive risk if Leeds decide to gamble on the former Everton striker as there is no evidence to suggest that his injury problems are behind him.
Leeds must surely sign one more striker or they are running the risk of betting on a player who has struggled to keep himself fit for any length of time.
On the face of it, fans will think this is a bad signing, however, if he manages fitness for 20 games and gets vital goals – this will be a difference between staying up and relegation. at least One think Leeds has above many teams right now is a good comradery in the team. This can perk up a player like this in fitness and performance- time will tell but I will not discredit the signing. This takes some pressure off to allow another striker and key players to join before the window closes. This can work and if he contributes to keeping us up this season – we can improve the next. Strangely, Harrison and DCL have played in the same team so there is connection that can help too. Not a bad signing
