Jurgen Klopp was a conflicted man on Sunday evening. His Liverpool team swept Leeds United aside with ease, but the German will be concerned about Harvey Elliott’s injury following a challenge from Pascal Struijk.
Klopp spoke in his pre-match press conference about how he was intrigued to experience the Elland Road atmosphere for the first time, but it seems he left underwhelmed. “But when the team is 2-0 down, it’s not so easy.” Klopp pointed out that the Leeds fans didn’t have much to get excited about, which meant the atmosphere died down.
“We killed the atmosphere slightly and that’s why we could hear our people a little louder. I am not surprised that they did a good job as well.” Klopp claimed he could hear the Liverpool away end louder than the home crowd, which definitely won’t impress Leeds fans.
He did however, admit that Leeds fans in general are great at making noise “Leeds supporters, obviously an outstanding crowd”.
