You don’t earn the nickname ‘El Loco’ without some form of erratic behaviour from time to time, but Owen Hargreaves is the latest pundit to question Marcelo Bielsa following Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle.
Leeds took the lead early on through Raphinha, before a tidy finish from Allan Saint-Maximin got Newcastle level. Midway through the second half, Raphinha was replaced by 19-year-old Crysencio Summerville for his debut.
“I’m not sure why Raphinha went off. I thought he was their best player.” Hargreaves wondered. Whilst Raphinha did look to be the one most likely to cause an issue to the Newcastle defence, Bielsa admitted in his post-match press conference that the Brazilian had picked up a hip injury.
It remains unclear as to the extent of the injury, but hopefully he will be returning very soon.
