Leeds United could take another massive step towards promotion this Friday. The Whites play on the same day as rivals Burnley and Sheffield United.
Leeds will be under pressure on Friday, as both Burnley and Sheffield United play five hours before the Whites kick off. Daniel Farke’s men sit top of the Championship, level on points with the Clarets, while the Blades are further behind by five points.
Farke will be hoping for a repeat of last Saturday, when Chris Wilder’s side dropped points and handed Leeds a massive boost in the promotion race. Opta rates the Whites chances of promotion at 98%.

Leeds will go head-to-head with Oxford United on Friday. As the Whites are pushing to secure promotion, the U’s are also fighting for their survival. Gary Rowett’s side have picked up some crucial wins in their last three games, and Leeds will have to be weary of the threat they pose.
Daniel Farke revealed this week that Dan James could return to the team a bit ahead of schedule. James will most likely face a fitness test to see if he is available to play on Friday night.
Oxford have also received some good news this week. The U’s could welcome club captain Elliott Moore, who returned to training recently. Peter Kioso is set for a return to the squad after missing last weekend’s game through illness. Fullback Ter Avest could also return after missing time with a slight concussion. Gary Rowett would be very pleased to have three players back with four games to go to end the season.
Moore and Kioso return U’s backline close to full strength
With Elliott Moore and Peter Kioso set to return, Gary Rowett will have close to his first choice backline. Ciaran Brown has unfortunately been ruled out of the season, but Moore’s return will bring back much needed experience.

In the absence of Moore and Kioso, Oxford United have had to rely on 21-year old Ben Nelson, and Michal Helik, who was in League One for the firs half of the season. Getting two key players back is a huge boost for the U’s, but Leeds United are still heavy favourites for Friday’s game.
So it was all nonsense about these players being out then? Doesn’t matter. Leeds are going to steamroll everything in front of them now. MOT
