Young Leeds star Pascal Struijk was sent off midway through the second half of Leeds United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool for a challenge on Harvey Elliott.
Struijk has since received a boatload of hate on social media from angry Liverpool fans. However, Struijk took to Instagram to wish Harvey Elliott a speedy recovery as he begins treatment on what we believe to be a dislocated ankle.
Struijk’s post read ‘In today’s game something happened that I would never wish on anyone! @harveyelliott07, my thoughts are with you. I’m gutted and never meant for this to happen. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you back on the pitch soon.’
It’s a classy message from a classy player, which will come as no surprise to Leeds fans who have grown rather fond of Struijk during his time at the club. Struijk will face a 3 game ban unless Leeds win a successful appeal, which they are expected to attempt.
