Patrick Bamford is ‘looking decent in training’ claims journalist – He can be a good option from the bench

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been a non-entity this season due to his injury problems. He has only made ten appearances in the Championship from the bench and has not played since New Year’s Day in January. However, the forward could have a role to play in Leeds’ push for promotion in the coming weeks.

Patrick Bamford has struggled this season and has yet to score a goal for the Whites. His constant nagging injuries have limited his appearances for the Whites.

He has been recovering from his latest injury since January, but the forward returned to training last week and is now in contention to get back into the squad.

Daniel Farke revealed on Thursday that Bamford is in the mix to be in the matchday squad for his side’s trip to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town this weekend.

Journalist makes a big claim about Patrick Bamford

Bamford has been training with the rest of the Leeds first-team squad over the last two weeks, and Farke now has one more option in the forward department.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth stressed that the forward is definitely available to play against Luton Town on Saturday.

He further claimed that the striker has looked more than decent in training in the last couple of weeks, indicating that he could now be a serious option for Leeds in the remaining seven games of the season.

“I think they [Bamford and Max Wober, after returning to training] are available”, he said on the Inside Elland Road podcast.

“I certainly think Bamford is available.

“From what I hear, he has been in training and looking decent in training over the last couple of weeks.”

A good option for Leeds on the bench

Bamford’s injuries mean that the striker has probably made his last start in a Leeds shirt and is unlikely to play 90 minutes again for the Whites.

However, the 31-year-old striker’s return to the squad is still very good news for Farke as he has one more option in the attacking department.

Joel Piroe has struggled for goals in recent games, and the Leeds boss could have one more player in Bamford he could throw in to make a difference on the pitch.

His injury problems have lessened his physical ability, but Bamford could still be more than a decent presence inside the penalty box and could play a role in getting Leeds promoted.
