Leeds United star Patrick Bamford is one of the longest serving players in the current team. He was there when the club were promoted in 2020, and is still part of the team now.
Elland Road fans will remember the highs and lows of his career so far, including scoring 17 goals in the Premier League. Unfortunately for him, his time at the club is drawing closer to an end. In the historic campaign this season, he failed to start a single game. Leeds hit 100 points and scored 95 goals on their way to lifting the league title.
Next season will see the Whites return to the English top flight.

Unfortunately, Bamford may not be there to witness this. He has been linked with a move away from Elland Road this summer. Wrexham have been mentioned as a potential destination, but their club executive has recently given an update on that.
This week, the striker has been speaking on his time at the club. Including his real feelings about the fans at Elland Road. Bamford was speaking to Ben Foster on the ‘Fozcast‘.
Foster asked: “Do you think people listen to the outside noise too much? Do you reckon players get on social media too much?”
Bamford replied: “You know what? I think it’s the young ones. When I was younger, I used to do it a little bit as well. It used to hack me off a lot. What’s this fan saying?
“And especially with Leeds, they’re either really high or really, really low. So, some players do get quite a lot of abuse sometimes, especially if they have a bad game.
“I feel like, if you’ve not been at Leeds for a long time, and you’re young, it can really pile onto you. Obviously, I’ve been at Leeds seven or eight years and I’m a bit older now. You kind of learn to brush it off a little bit and know that it’s gonna go up.
Should Bamford be in the team for next season?
Leeds should be moving on from Bamford. But keeping him in the squad for being a leader in the dressing room could be an option as he heads into the last year of his deal. But if a good enough offer comes in, offloading his wages would be a huge positive.
