Kalvin Phillips was obviously unavailable due to injury, but the failure to win this game highlighted the impact Phillips has on the team. Manchester City star Phil Foden certainly recognises Phillips’ worth, as when he was asked who the toughest player in the squad was he answered Kalvin Phillips.
This will come as no surprise to Leeds fans, who have become used to watching Phillips dominate Premier Leagu midfields with ease. Most players, including Phillips himself, see Chelsea defender Reece James as the toughest player in the squad. However, Phil Foden seemingly sees the toughest player as being the Yorkshire Pirlo.
