Leeds United announced one big signing on Monday, completing their second transfer of the summer window. The club have now addressed two main areas of the team.
Lukas Nmecha arrives to bolster the attack, which needed some quality and depth. And Jaka Bijol arrives to fortify an already solid defensive unit at Elland Road. The Whites have recruited smartly in both instances; a free transfer and a top defender reportedly worth just a 15million fee.
There are a few more signings planned, with Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic a major target.

Leeds United could be set for Meslier exit

Rumours have swarmed Elland Road this summer concerning Illan Meslier. The French stopper has been linked with a move away from the club after the events of last season.
It was reported in the last 24 hours that the door could be open for Leeds to sign Nick Pope. Burnley are set to sign Max Weiss, which would open the door for Newcastle to sign James Trafford. Nick Pope would then be on the market, with Leeds as primary contenders.
Then the club would have to find an exit for Meslier. According to Turkish outlet Ajansspor, Fenerbahce have agreed a deal with Leeds United for the French keeper. Jose Mourinho’s side reportedly pipped Galatasaray to sign the 25-year old. The report also adds that Meslier and his representatives will fly to Istanbul this week to finalize the deal.
No word on the fee has been mentioned, but the Turkish club will be confident of signing Meslier on a cut-price deal as he has 12 months left on his contract.
Who replaces Illan Meslier?
If reports are to be believed, Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale are the main names with Nick Pope also in the mix.

Looking at the statistics from DataMB, Pope is clearly the outstanding candidate. The Newcastle man is also the most experienced, and the best shot stopper among the trio. A move will be difficult, but Leeds can pull something off.
