Leeds United know that this time around, shopping in the transfer market will not be as easy. The last time the club was promoted, their transfer window was a big reason for their survival.
Leeds’ transfer window in 2020 saw them recruit Raphinha and Rodrigo Moreno in the same window. The attacking duo played a huge part in the Whites finishing in the top half of the Premier League.
Fans will be hoping that Daniel Farke and the recruitment team will be able to pull off another transfer window of that quality.

Last week saw the Whites being linked to Ipswich Town defender Dara O’Shea. The 26-year old won Player of the Year at Portman Road this past season. Ipswich were relegated this season, sparking rumours that they may lose some of their best players, including O’Shea.
The player has now come out to address the speculation over his future:
“I’m fully committed to Ipswich at the moment. I’ve got another four years there and I want to get the club back into the Premier League. I’m ambitious as a player,” O’Shea said to The Mirror.
“Obviously I want to be playing in the Premier League but I know it’s not that easy. Whatever happens in football it happens for a reason. You have a journey and you’ve got to stick to that sometimes,” he said.
Leeds to lose a versatile defensive option
Outside Sam Byram and Isaac Schmidt, there are not many players in the squad who can play a variety of defensive roles. Which makes losing out on a player like Dara O’Shea a huge blow. Clubs benefit from having versatile players who can fit in a number of position.
If Sam Byram does not renew his contract, then Leeds would need to find another target who can fill multiple roles in defence.
