Leeds United are under pressure to get their season back on track ahead of the Middlesbrough game on Tuesday night. Daniel Farke made a few changes to the team at Luton Town, but they only managed a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road. The Leeds boss has another big decision to make for the trip to the Riverside Stadium in the next 24 hours.

Farke and his Leeds United players are under the cosh after winning just one of their last six Championship games, which has seen them drop down to third in the table.

They are still just two points behind league leaders Burnley, and a point off Sheffield United, who are sitting second in the Championship table.

However, Leeds need a win soon and they are set to take on a Middlesbrough side who have won four of their last six games, despite a deepening injury crisis.

Farke will have a couple of big decisions to make on his starting eleven, and he is likely to bring back one of his favourite players into the team.

Brenden Aaronson is likely to be back in the Leeds United XI

Aaronson was dropped to the bench on Saturday after starting 37 straight Championship games for Leeds this season, scoring nine times and registering two assists.

Wilfried Gnonto was used in the number 10 role, but the Italian struggled to make an impact and is now likely to get back on the bench against Boro.

Farke would want Aaronson’s energy on the pitch against Middlesbrough regardless of his lack of creativity or a consistent goal threat.

Joel Piroe will continue to lead the line, and the Leeds boss will continue to trust Manor Solomon and Daniel James on the wings at the Riverside Stadium.

Karl Darlow will keep his place between the sticks

Dropping Illan Meslier from the team was the other big decision the Leeds boss made against Luton Town, and the Frenchman will continue on the bench on Tuesday night.

Karl Darlow did little wrong against Luton, and he couldn’t have done anything better to stop the opening goal from the home side at Kenilworth Road.

Can you name these 10 former Leeds United players?

The Welsh international will be in the starting eleven at Middlesbrough, and he will have the same defensive four of  Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo ahead of him.

Farke could still make some changes to the midfield, but it seems Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu will retain their places in the team.
