Leeds United will have a lot of decisions to make when it comes to the first team in the summer. Club sources have already revealed that they are still planning on possible transfer targets.
Last summer saw some massive restructuring in the squad, with some exits from Elland Road. However, most of these players left on temporary deals and will return at the end of the season.
The Whites will also have to make key decisions on current first team players. Pascal Struijk and Ethan Ampadu are out of contract next year, and Leeds have to sort out their future.
If both players do not sign an extension, they could negotiate with foreign clubs in January and leave as free agents next summer
Brighton boss speaks on Leeds United star
One player that Leeds United have definitely made a decision on is Facundo Buonanotte. The midfielder arrived in January on a loan deal, but has failed to impress since he made his first appearance.
Ahead of Brighton’s visit to Elland Road this weekend, Fabian Hurzeler has spoken about the Argentine’s time in West Yorkshire.
“That’s a good question,” Hurzeler said when asked about Buonanotte in Thursday’s press conference.
“I’m not there, I’m not in his head, I’m not knowing exactly the processes that are going on of course.
“I’m trying to be in touch with our loan managers and trying to understand the situation from the individual players but it’s always quite difficult to judge things from outside and to judge things from this end.”
The 21-year old has made just three appearances since joining in January and has played a total of 74 minutes.

Facundo Buonanotte was a terrible signing
When Daniel Farke managed to turn things around, the team went on a great run into the New Year. Many felt that the 49ers needed to improve the squad in the January transfer window.
Leeds United ended up with Facundo Buonanotte on loan, after failing to land Jorgen Strand Larsen. The Argentine looked like the ideal playmaker the team needed in attack.
But so far, he has failed to impress and has been poor. Farke has routinely left him out of matchday squads, showing how little he values the midfielder. The Whites’ campaign ended successfully, but everyone has acknowledged how bad the Facundo Buonanotte deal was.
Not sure I understand your use of the phrase ‘Leeds Star’. Ampadu is a star. Buananotte was a catastrophe.
