Premier League club reveal £50M price tag for Leeds United target – contract talks could begin soon

Leeds United have been very good in finding quality in the transfer market in recent years. After their era of making flop signings, something has changed at the club.

Especially since Daniel Farke took over. The German has pushed the club to make bargain deals for some high quality players. The likes of Ao Tanaka and Jayden Bogle arrived at Elland Road for less than £10million each.

Leeds fans will be hoping that the club can repeat recent transfer windows heading into the Premier League. Finding quality at affordable prices will go a long way to help the club this summer.

Leeds will now have to spend big if they want to land their latest target. According to reports this week, the Whites were keen on signing Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz. But now, Dean Jones of GMS has reported that the London club have slapped a £50million price tag on the Brazilian. And the club are planning to offer him a new deal on improved terms.

This is in line with Marco Silva’s comments in January. The Fulham boss was adamant that the 24-year old would not be sold anytime soon:

“We are not open to listen to anything about Rodrigo and it’s better if no one contacts us because it will be a quick and easy answer from us.

“There’s no chance at all to even start to talk to clubs.”

“He has much more years here and a bright future in front of him and he has all the conditions to be the number nine for this football club for many years.”

£50M is too much for the club

Rodrigo Muniz is a decent player, but that price tag for him is a bit too much. And now that Fulham have made it clear that they want to keep him, Leeds need to move on to another target.

The Whites need to find a quality striker to lead the line in the Premier League. Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph is not enough quality to score goals in the top flight.
