The Whites will return to the English top flight after they were relegated in 2023. So far, the club is making some big signings ahead of pre season. Sebastiaan Bornauw is the latest addition to the squad.

During a Hisense event in partnership with the FIFA Club World Cup, Robbie Fowler was asked about Leeds United’s survival chances:

“I think they will. When you think of the last three or four years in the Premier League, teams who have come up have generally gone straight back down.” he said (quotes via YEP).

“Leeds should do well in the Premier League. Obviously they have to sign players and spend a bit of money – every club would say the same. But Leeds are a Premier League team and I’ve got a lot of time with everyone associated with Leeds… and I hope they stay up for a very long time”.

“I think Leeds are stronger than Burnley, stronger than Sunderland. I think Wolves will have a tough year this year and I’ve got a sneaky feeling Brentford will fall a little bit as well after losing the manager and losing a great player in the middle of the park.”

Can Leeds survive this year?

Objectively looking at it, Leeds are better than both Sunderland and Burnley. But that could change depending on who the other two clubs sign. The Whites have been smart with their recruitment so far; they have not spent much, but they have gotten solid options in multiple positions.

Daniel Farke will have a huge job on his hands to guide the team to safety. A new goalkeeper will also be key, as it could be the difference between survival and relegation.
